Sarah Jane Hargis (b. 1975) is an internationally-acclaimed performer and composer of classical, modern and improvisational music. Her adventurous spirit allows Sarah Jane to take a rich classical tone and combine it with a passionate exploration of electronic sound effects. She fuses blues, jazz, electronic music, meditation music, pop and improvisation into an exciting blend that has been described as “an improvisational playground”, “mesmerizing”, and “ethereal”. She is an artist for Altus Flutes, Heart Dance Records and Earthquaker Devices. Sarah Jane has been a university professor/lecturer, guest lecturer, and performer in schools and universities around North America for over twenty years. Sarah Jane continues to perform, compose and record actively as a soloist and with various groups around the world. She holds a Master’s of Music in Flute Performance from the University of New Mexico, and a Bachelor’s of Music Education from Eastern Kentucky University.
