Altus Flutes proudly welcomes Paul Edmund-Davies as Global Brand Ambassador

Paul Edmund-Davies

Altus Flutes is proud to welcome internationally acclaimed flute player and educator Paul Edmund-Davies as global brand ambassador.

With a distinguished career spanning over twenty years as Principal Flute of the London Symphony Orchestra and later the Philharmonia Orchestra, Paul has worked with legendary conductors and contributed to iconic film scores such as Star Wars, Lion King Mufasa, and Mission: Impossible. He currently teaches at the Royal Academy of Music, holding the Charles Nicholson Chair.

As a founder of Simply Flute, Paul provides practical, accessible learning resources for flutists worldwide. His 28 Day Warm-Up and Daily Exercises have become go-to practice tools for students and teachers alike.

With regard to the Altus flute he plays, Paul says:
“The AL II possesses a tone that is remarkably close to my beloved 150-year-old Louis Lot, while offering the responsiveness and flexibility of a modern-day instrument. It is a true work of art. Every time I play it, I feel as though I’m sculpting sound, which in turn inspires me further to explore the expressive depths of music.”

Altus Flutes is honored to partner with an artist whose musical integrity and passion for education reflect company core values. This partnership was officially launched at the 2025 NFA Convention in Atlanta, where Paul performed and led Altus-supported workshops focused on technical matters and ensemble skills.

Together, we look forward to continuing this collaboration and inspiring flute players around the world through artistic excellence and music education.
